March Happenings

Wow this month has been busy!  Jared had been playing basketball which has been interesting.  Not sure if he will play again next year its been kind of a bad experience for him.  Long story but in a nut shell the coach brought in someone to "help" and he has taken all the fun out of playing.  I don't think any of the boys on his team enjoy it much, they like the games, but the practice can be a pain when all they do is get lectured.  Hopefully it will get better they have 3 games this week.  Its going to be crazy.

We spent a weekend with Dennie's family.  His parents are getting ready for their Service Mission.  It was fun to see family and spend a little time with them.

Last Tuesday it was the 70's program!!  Wow what a group of kids.   Jonathan preformed his solo 3 times and did AWESOME!!!  It was fun to go and see all the work that they put into the program.  He has such a good choir and band teacher.  Its been fun to watch him develop this talent.  He sang The Gambler by Kenny Rodgers, I truly think I was more nervous than he was but he really did a super good job!  So proud of him!  Loved all the groovy clothes too.

Wednesday was the cub scout pinewood derby!  Jared got a award for the most military hummer I think is what it was.  It was a fun night.  Crazy but fun.
This week it snowed and everything is covered again,  Spring time in good old Idaho.  I told the kids it could be like this until May or June, they seem to forget how it is from year to year.  We have a fun busy week ahead too.  Lots going on and spring break next week.  WOW can it really be that close to April?

March. . . . Where did February go?

Its March already.  Wow how the time flys.   We have been busy, and enjoying to SNOW and storms the end of February.  It's  been crazy!  We have been snowed in with all roads closed out of the valley the last weekend in February and one time last week, but we have had school every day!!  The one last week was after school was out.   I have been hoping for a snow day, it will probably happen in April.  Its been fun coming up with ideas to keep everyone entertained and happy.  The other day Jared got the idea to build something with mini marshmallows and toothpicks.  Its amazing how long he will sit and do something when he sets his mind to it.  He had a big cube built when he was done.

The girls like to play outside, but because of where we are at they can't play to often.  Its a big time bummer, but its also winter and cold, so its OK.  Now summer is going to be a different story.
Yes we have SNOW!!!  These pictures were taken on Saturday, the only difference is that now the sidewalk is almost bare.  It was melting yesterday, and now we have ice on the sidewalk instead of snow.
Here is my March calendar.  YEAH its done and was up before March started.  Not a very good picture, but it gives you the general idea.  Now to get the rest of the months done. I do have April and May done, but if I don't get the others done before school is out they won't get done until school starts this fall.  Which is coming soon.  I get to register Sara for kindergarten this week. She is so excited!!  Me not so much.

Next week Jonathan's choir class is doing a 70's program.  So they need outfits, and they are going to have a lunch for the choir class so I thought it would be fun to do some tie-dye cupcakes.  So because I hadn't made them before and didn't want to mess up I made some on Saturday.  They turned out well AWESOME!  I didn't think it would be hard, but just wanted to try and the kids loved them so it all worked out great.  Just a couple of pictures of the fun cupcakes and the tie-dyed t-shirt I made for Jonathan.  Now to get his bell bottom jeans done. So much fun.  Can't wait for the program!  I hope he will let me take some pictures of him in his groovy outfit!
