Tuesdays update

I didn't realize how somber my kids look in their first day of school pictures, they really were excited I don't know why there was no smiles in the pictures. STRANGE children. They get it from their Dad. Anyway school has been going good, so far. We are keeping busy and trying to stay WARM!!! This week so far has been really cool, I hope we have some nice fall weather and are able to see the changing leaves. I so look forward to that. I LOVE fall time with all the different colors, ahhhhhh. LOVE IT! So far no scrapbook pages done. I was going to really get with it and get some done when the kids went back to school, granted they haven't been in a week yet, but still. Instead I have caught the sewing bug, why is it that I can think of projects to sew and ideas to try, but can't come up with a good scrap book idea? Bugs me. I'll have to post the picture of the cute aprons I made for the girls. Now to come up with one for the boys shouldn't be to hard just change it a little bit.

School time.

Can I just say one word EXCITEMENT! The kids were so excited for school! They were up and ready to go by 7:30 school doesn't start until after 8 for the boys and 11:45 for Rachel. Sara was even up and dressed and hair done for the day. WOW I am good. Don't worry it didn't last. The boys have been up and ready but the girls well lets just say it is a good thing we don't get out of the van, we just drop the boys off. Bedtime has been WONDERFUL!!!! I think we finally have Jared back on track. Poor boy gets so tired he can't stand himself. He has been to bed and ASLEEP by 9 the last couple of days. That is so much better than what it has been. Rachel is still so excited. Jonathan is well he is almost a teenager, school is okay, fine, etc. I think it will really "hit" everyone (including me) next week when homework starts coming.

Pictures from the first day of school, Sara was bummed out that she wasn't getting her picture taken so
we had to do one with her too.
Hope the excitement last!

Monday

AHHHH its that time of year again, SCHOOL. It starts Wednesday. BIG BUMMER! But the kids are more than ready to go. Jared said "good then I won't be board anymore" guess I haven't done a very good job entertaining him this summer. Rachel is excited to go, I hope she does okay, I'm kind of worried if she will be brave enough for me to leave. We shall see! Jonathan, well I don't get much feed back from him, I think he is excited about going. Its going to be CRAZY at my house on Wednesday! Hope I do okay! I am not ready for school, and another new schedule, but on the other hand it will be nice to get things back to "normal". (Not that we are normal) but you know. I hope to get some scrap booking done while the kids are in school and I need to start thinking about Birthdays and Christmas. Its good to be busy! Have a good week! Melody

Sew much fun!

More skirts for Little Miss Rachel. I tried this one today. I think it turned out okay, Rachel said " I just love it." I learned a lot making this one so the next one will be much better. Not sure if she will ever wear it school, but she likes it and she LOVES to wear dresses and skirts so it will get plenty of use. (she hasn't taken it off yet, I like her to try them on after I make them and she won't take it off, a sign that she really likes this one.)

I made this one a couple of weeks ago.

Weekend FUN

AHHHH to be home with all our kids. Its been a fun summer for them they have all spent time away from home except Sara, (she's too little to be away).

This weekend we decided to take the kids fishing, well Dennie was going to take the boys down to the river, but when the girls found out the boys were going fishing they were NOT staying home. (who can resits PLEASE oh PLEASE, PLEASE). So we all went to the pond just outside of town. It was really fun. Dennie helped get the boys started, and then helped the girls, I just took the pictures. The place we went fishing.

Sara got to use daddy's pole cause she doesn't have one yet it was twice as big as she is.

The boys went across the pond to fish cause that's where all the fish were jumping, but still no luck.

The girls soon got tired of fishing, so we went back to the van to wait for the boys. They entertained them selves by finding pretty rocks.
JOY now we have another sack of rocks.

Jared and his fish, he is the only one that caught one,
Jonathan tried and tried, he kept getting hits but couldn't catch one.
After about 2 hours we came home.

We had decided to do some dutch oven cooking that night and invite some friends over.
(I love it! That means I don't have to cook)
We did dutch oven cheesy potatoes and chicken, with watermelon
green salad, and s'mores for dessert!

Lets just say YUMMY!

Dennie the cook!

I bought some GIANT marshmallows
to try, the kids loved them.

Jared enjoying his marshmallow

Jonathan made a special s'more,he put peanut butter
on the marshmallow, then roasted it then added chocolate and
graham crackers, it was HUGE! Super yummy too!

3 weeks!

WOW! Its been a while since I have seen this young man! He was at scout camp for a week then home for ONE night and then gone for 3 weeks. I can't wait until tomorrow I will be going to get him. We have really missed him. He is the quite one and the peacemaker in our family. He is so much like his dad, so even tempered and caring. The kids have missed him and Sara asks daily when is Jonathan coming home I miss him. We can't wait to hear all about his trip and see the pictures. I hope to be able to post some.

Home at Last!

Today my Jared gets home. He is so funny he called me at 8 this morning to ask if I would make him a cake. I ask why to celebrate you coming home he giggled and said yes. He is too funny. I sure have missed him this past week. He is the "SPICE" in our family. He keeps me busy with all his energy. I didn't know what to do with myself for the first couple of days he was gone. From what I am hearing from his grandma he was quite the entertainer he kept them in stitches can't wait to hear all the stories. I am so glad he was able to go and had such a good time.
