Snow in September?!

Yes, its true we have SNOW!! It was only raining this morning and then snow, then rain etc. now it is lightly snowing we did have HUGE flakes not to long ago, I took some pictures, I'll have to post them tomorrow. Any way today we are just inside. It was chilly in the house and I don't want to turn the heaters on yet its WAY to early for that and the kids wanted cookies so I am making yummy pumpkin cookies, nothing gets us in the mood for fall and Halloween like some good old pumpkin cookies. I also have been making more bows, so far I have made a total of 9 Halloween bows here are a couple different ones I made the other day I made 5 more today. Its a fun way to keep busy. Anyway hope you all are staying warm in this CRAZY Idaho weather we are having. Melody

Saturday FUN!

OK here goes, we went over to Jackson on Saturday to ride the Tram. It was so much fun, I must admit though that being afraid of heights I was a little nervous OK a lot. Much to my surprise it wasn't bad in fact it was WAY to fun, the kids had a blast too, Jonathan took two of his friends with him so instead of 4 kids we had 6. I'll try and keep pictures in order, there is way too many of them to post so just a few. Its really hard to see but this is the empty tram it is really quite large and lots of people can go in these. Jonathan and his friends on the way up the mountain.

I love this sign, you really did feel that you were on top of the world, I wish my pictures were better so I could post them but pictures really don't do justice to the views we saw.
The 6 kids and I on TOP OF THE WORLD, it was super windy up there and I had to sit so I wouldn't get too dizzy but all in all it was super fun. We walked around and then caught the tram for the ride back down. This is the view on the way down the mountain. This is the tram lines I guess that is what they are called, its hard to see they go all the way to the top!

We stopped at the Visitor's Center, they had displays of different animals etc, one thing the kids really liked was these TV screens that were on the floor, it would change from a stream to calm waters, to snow etc, it was way fun they had a couple of these in different places.

We had a really fun time, we watched some elk and even heard them bugle, we saw a BIG moose too. There was a couple of fires on the hills as well so it was kinda smokey but all in all it was a great day!

Its very Late!

Its so late that it is Tuesday, we had a super fun Saturday and I need to get the pictures posted, hopefully I can do that tomorrow. Its been crazy here with fall break and inspections once again, goody I can hardly wait, the good thing is I got my stove cleaned after all the canning I did it really needed it. I just hope it stays that way for a while, I always seem to boil something over right after I clean it, why is that? Boy what a boring post, all about cleaning it must be late. I was going to write about how bad I feel about the way the people who bought our home thought about it, I know it was in need of a lot of fixing up, but for heaven sakes, I had just had a baby, my husband worked out of town and would stay up there for the week, what the heck did they expect, besides the fact that it was DIRT CHEEP!! Oh well, that is their problem, I am not going to feel bad, when we bought our home we were trying to have a baby with no luck and going through the adoption progress, we had other things on our mind. I guess we should have painted and put tile floor in the kitchen and then raised the price thirty thousand dollars, then maybe we would still be there and they wouldn't. Oh well on to bigger and better things right! I guess it serves me right though, I was blog hopping and found them by accident. Let that be a lesson to me, maybe I'll go private I have been thinking about it for some time anyway. Will let you know if I do. Melody

Its Official

Its that time of year once again when the nights are cool, and the mornings are crisp, and its warmer outside than in your house, ya its official its FALL! It was the first day of Autumn yesterday how in the world did I miss it? I was just so busy doing all my little projects and house cleaning and soccer etc. that I missed it. Good thing Autumn last for awhile. So HAPPY FALL to all of you! Melody

Thursday

I have a ton of stuff to do today and what am I doing? That's right I am here on the computer and being a MAJOR SLACKER I just don't feel like doing anything today! I really need to get busy I didn't do much yesterday, a neighbor came over and we went for a walk and let the kids play and visited, I think she needed some adult talk, her hubby works late and she has 3 little kids. I am worried, sightly stressed and anxious there have been no kids out after school playing for the last couple of days, it is VERY weird, but then I don't blame people for keep their kids in and "safe". It makes me wonder if they know something else is coming or if they just want to keep their kids safe. There is no school on Friday, it will be interesting to see if the kids are out playing, but then we won't be here for part of Friday and then we have a soccer game too. I wish it would get cold, (not really) it would be easier to keep the kids in, cause I don't want them out either they have been really good about staying in but its hard cause its nice and they want to play outside and ride bikes. Oh I could go on and on but I won't. I must get busy and get my stuff done and maybe get some scrap booking done, I am in need of a scrap booking weekend HINT HINT HINT. Maybe we can fine a weekend that will work SOON! Have a good weekend. Melody

Its half OVER

Boy what a CRAZY week it has been so far, we have had some really scary things going on up here and are seriously looking for another place to live, but I feel as if we are kinda stuck here with the lease and all. But when it comes to the safety of our family that has to be top priority. In a nut shell there was a drive by shooting, it involved the people that live in the building right next to ours, THANKFULLY it was raining Monday night and NO kids were in the park, I hate to think what might have happened if there had been kids outside including mine. Thankfully NO ONE was hurt. Who would have thought that something like this would happen in this little ol town, but then again it can and does happen everywhere. It was really weird yesterday, there is ALWAYS lots of kids out after school playing in the park riding bikes etc., yesterday NONE even though it was a super nice day no kids out playing! I don't blame people here mine were not out either, its just too scary. It was a really rough Monday for SURE! However we did have FHE (family home evening) I had decided earlier that no matter what we are going to have FHE. I think the kids were kinda shocked cause it was late but I told them that the prophet has said to have FHE and so we are no matter what, so at least OUR Monday ended good.

Its a MONDAY for sure!

UGH! Nothing is working today! My computer won't save my pictures to a disc, this gives me stress I am afraid of losing pictures, my camera is being stupid, my pictures are all out of order, don't ask me how or why, I think it has something to do with the file numbers or something, maybe I will just down load them and start over, I hate it when things are not in order. IT really bugs me I guess I better get on with my day before I get to upset with this stupid computer. Anybody else have the same problems or is it just me? I have pears to do today, fun, I don't like pears of anything even the pear flavored jelly belly jelly beans, YUCK! but I have kids that like them and we have too many for them to eat fresh so I will can them, it will be nice to have them for a quick snack this winter. It was Dennies B-day on Friday! He went hunting and the kids went to school, of course we had cake and ice cream after dinner that night too. I was going to post a picture, but of course NOTHING is working today, so maybe later. Have a good week! Melody

FINISHED

YEAH!!! My tomatoes are DONE!! I finished them yesterday, I did 49 pints of salsa, 12 quarts of salsa and 7 quarts of tomatoes, needless to say we have enough salsa to last a year (I hope) my hubby really likes it. Anyway its good to have them done. I didn't even save any to eat fresh, I was going to and just got busy and did them all, oh well I think we will have some from the garden soon if they turn before it gets to cold. Melody

What a DORK

I can't believe it when I was changing the background of my blog I didn't look at ALL the backgrounds. I even looked again later thinking I know they must have more. Well tonight I found them YIPPEE!! I will be changing my background several times I am sure cause you all know by now that FALL is my FAVORITE time of the year. We went and took some new family pictures yesterday, they didn't turn out the way we wanted, it was cool and the wind was blowing mixed with rain showers, we will have to try again. Busy days ahead LOTS of tomatoes to do I hope to get salsa done tomorrow wish me luck. Its late better get off to bed. Melody

New Band Student

Here it is at last Jonathan and his new tenor saxophone, I swear it is as big as Sara. The first night he had it we put it together and he wanted to see if he could play it or at least make a sound on it, he was able too I was surprised I must say. Then I thought, humm, I played the clarinet in band, I bet I could play something on it. I couldn't even make a sound on it, what the heck, it takes a little bit more air than I thought, I was finally able to make a sound but I couldn't push any of the keys. He is so excited, he brought it home yesterday and was playing it on the back deck so EVERYONE could hear. He has some friends who also have instruments and they were "playing" together, what a joyful sound ha ha ha! Melody

Its BAND time

We got Jonathans band instrument yesterday before his soccer game. Its too funny the thing is almost bigger than him, his case has straps on it so he can carry it like a backpack, its more like a suitcase on his back too funny, but he is SUPER excited, I hope he reach all the keys on the thing. It will be fun, going there last night made me want to take band again, I know weird, but it would be fun to have an instrument to play along with him. I'll post some pictures later. Melody

Can you believe it? September already? I love it! I love this time of year as said what a dozen times before. I just love it! OK OK enough I know.

My project for this week was several but the main BIG one was cleaning off my scrapbook table, I wish I had twice the space, but maybe that's a good thing seeing how this one table looks. I am determined to keep it cleaned off so I can scrap and then leave it if I have too. This has been the biggest problem with my scrap booking, I don't have a spot that I can leave pages in the works out, so when I get a couple of minutes I can do a few things you get the idea. So my challenge is to keep the spot cleaned off. So for motivation I took a before picture I know don't be too shocked! Its awful. Can you even see the table under all of this stuff? Dare I say (CRAP) there are days when that is what I think of it all.

Okay so after working all day on this stuff it finally looks like this, I know not a whole lot better but at least I can work at the table, there is still stuff to go through and throw away, its a work in progress, which is frustrating cause I would rather spend the time scrap booking I am sooooo behind but if the table is clean then maybe I can get something done. The BIGGEST problem I have is space, and then I have a lot of stuff that I don't use anymore. I think we need a scrap book swap meet you know where you bring the stuff that you don't use and let some one else either trade you for it or something, wouldn't that be a good idea? I think so.

Don't you love the lion picture? Rachel colored it for me and wanted me to put it somewhere that I could see it everyday that was the spot she choose. Hopefully putting these picture out there for everyone to see will HELP me keep it clean, and maybe even get a few pages done too. Wish me luck.

Lots going on this week with soccer and school etc. but NO RUNNING YEAH!!!! that's the big thing I haven't had to go out of town this week it makes a lot of difference in what gets done at home. We are getting into the school routine once again, it hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be, thank goodness but it is still change, and its different having both boys gone to school all day Jared said the other day he wasn't ready for school yet he needed a couple more weeks its been a BIG change for him and then his teacher well that has been interesting too. Jonathan is liking school lots and is very excited about band we get his instrument tonight hope he can manage it its a big one. Well better go haven't got all my chores done yet and this post is HUGE! Have a good one, Melody
