Week in Review

Well I've been busy these past couple of days no time to even think about being on the computer. I had a minute and its super late but just wanted to update you all on what's been going on (I know you'll all rest better knowing what we have been doing) Thursday was a field-trip day for Jonathan yeah, he and I both survived! Friday was the talent show, I was told about this a LONG time ago and nothing else said. Thursday night I found a note about the talent show and ask Jonathan about it, yep, it was Friday and yep he was in it. Friday comes I go to the school (Dennie had the day off so the kids stayed with him thank goodness Jared would have been late for school) I have to admit I was a little nervous, Jonathan requested no help for this talent show, I knew what he was doing, but still I was nervous. Well I was one PROUD Mom, he did AWESOME he did the hula hoop, I just wasn't prepared for what he did. It wasn't just standing there doing the hula hoop, he did tricks with it. It was great, a real confidence builder for him too. Then Jared had a T-ball game and we got a super complement on him. He is quite the little player. Tonight was the dance recital, and Rachel did great, I thought she would be scared but she danced super. (we even won a dinner for 2 from the raffle they had yeah us) I'll have to post pictures of them all later. It was a good fun week, and I am proud of my kids, I would and still have a hard time doing things with people watching, I'm glad my kids can do things and not let their fears or nerves stop them. It was a busy week, and only 1 week of school left YIPPEE! Have a great and restful Sunday. Melody

Yesterday's Projects

Yesterday I decided to make a bag holder, I think it turned out pretty good, (Rachel helped make it) It holds TONS more than the store bought ones, and was super easy to make. I couldn't believe how many bags we stuffed in there. My next project of the day was Texas Sheet cake, this is a new favorite with the boys, its really chocolaty and yummy and I was very good and only had one small piece, I made it so Jonathan had a yummy treat for his field-trip today and Dennie had some for lunch and of course dessert last night. Today brings doll clothes I cut them out in December, so it is time they got finished and the girls will love them. Hope they turn out. Its our last dance practice before the recital on Saturday I am a little nervous cause she has the front center place (unless she changes today) and I don't know if she will get scared or not, I hope not but what ever happens will be OK. Have a good one

Ribbons and T-Ball

These are a couple of the bows I have been making its my new obsession. The bad thing is how many bows do my girls really need and I have run out of ribbon, so the next time I go to the falls, I am going to stock up on more. They are super easy and lots of fun to do.

We have T-Ball today yahoo. Its funny to watch the kids play and sometimes very frustrating but as long as they have fun who cares. Its all about the fun right. Hopefully the weather will be nice and no rain or thunderstorms, but you never can tell and they say we are going to get some so we will see. Another field-trip tomorrow. I am really getting tired of them, why do they even have them? If money is so tight, why not cut those first? Its so close to the end of school Jared doesn't even want to go anymore, but I just tell him he only has so many days left and then he is OK with going. I can hardly wait! Have a good day ya all. What day is it?

This week is going to be CRAZY! It feels like a Monday, so that means I will be all messed up, and we have a lot going on this week so I need to keep it together and know which day is which. The kids were really cranky today, hopefully not a sign of what it will be like when school is out. Only 9 more days YIPPEE! I enjoy the kids being home, but I need to find some cool actives to do to this summer to keep them busy, and to help one keep his mind off of some so called friends, that will only be his friend if he has cool toys, or treats. Its hard cause he is little and doesn't really understand about having true friends even when we have talked to him and explained it to him he just wants friends to play with, so I need lots of fun busy ideas to keep him busy. Hopefully I can find some that he will be interested in and the other kids too. Wish me luck.

Memorial Day

We had a very enjoyable Memorial Day. It was a fun filled day though by some people it wouldn't be fun but to us it was. We enjoyed visiting with our family, we visited with Audrey & Evan and the girls, I was finally able to hold her sweet new baby, (I'm glad my baby is 2), we visited with Mom & Dad for a little while, stopped at the graves to remember our loved ones, visited with Dennie's Mom & Dad, got the garden spot ready, and planted some tomatoes.

The Kids really enjoyed the garden, they love playing in the fresh tilled dirt, we had lots of tomatoes to plant, hope they grow tons of tomatoes, I need lots to make salsa this fall, last fall I only had 20 pints of salsa and that just isn't enough, we go through really fast. The weather was great, (Sunday it rained off and on all day, I was sure glad I was home and not in a tent) We enjoyed spending the day together as a family.

Weekend

Its the weekend and yeah we were able to clean the garage out today! YEAH I swear that junk multiplies when the door is closed. We took a BIG load to the DI, yes I feel good about what we got done, I was going to take some before and after pictures, but I was too embarrassed to let anyone see all the JUNK. The people next to us were having a yard sale, they did this yesterday too that is why we waited for today hoping they wouldn't be having it today, (that was a mouth full ) anyway some of the people that stopped thought we were having a sale too, kinda embarrassing. We had to stop earlier than we wanted to, it started to rain and we needed to get the stuff back in and we still have some boxes to go through maybe next week I hope. I can't believe what a pack-rat I am but, I am getting lots better, if I haven't used it in the 2 years since we have moved I don't need it, so off it went. Lots of good stuff too, maybe we should have had a yard sale HA HA HA. I am sure that when we go through it again, lots more will go. Not much else going on this weekend too cold still for us to go camping we do it the old fashion way, a tent so it needs to be just a little warmer and everyone needs to be well. Hopefully after school gets out we can go. Enjoy the three day weekend and be safe.

Yellowstone

Tuesday I went on a field-trip with Jonathan's 5th grade class. It was really fun I learned somethings that I didn't know about Yellowstone. What a change from when I went on field-trips, the kids had a worksheet and a journal to complete on the field-trip which was part of their grade. We never had to do that. I think it was great they had fun but learned somethings too which is even better. It was a long day, I enjoyed sharing the day with Jonathan, and his friends. The last field-trip I went with him was in kindergarten. I only got 1 picture with him and I, didn't even think to have someone else take a couple of pictures for us until we were home, what a bummer! Here are some of the pictures we took.

Jonathan at one of his favorite spots in Yellowstone, West Thumb. The frozen lake, lots of snow on the way home.

Monday

Another week has come and gone and we start a new busy week hopefully SICK free. We took Sara to the doctor on Saturday, after she cried almost all Friday night I think she finally went to sleep out of pure exhaustion. Poor baby girl she has double ear infection, ended up taking Dennie in on Sunday, great he has strep throat, yeah guess who will be next! Ya, I'm looking forward to that. You know we were really blessed this last winter, we really were not sick, we had colds, a case of croup but nothing too bad, spring hits and BAM we get colds, sore throats, ear infections, etc. still it could be worse. Hopefully this week will be better and we can all get caught up on our sleep. Lots of fun things going on this week. We will be busy and then the holiday weekend, so we will be busy until next week, and then only 2 weeks of school left YEAH!!! Can't wait for summer, I guess I better get busy planning so the kids know what to look forward to. Its hard because we have no outside work to do, you know the yard, garden, etc. you really don't know you will miss it until it is gone. I must admit it is nice sometimes, but for the most part its the pits. Not much to do on Saturdays, and we can't play every Saturday so it can get kind of boring. I need to get creative and come up with some good ideas for the summer, hope to do a lot of camping so that will help some. Must get busy, have a good week.

What a Night!

Well last night started out pretty good. Had dinner, (it was a little late) but OK, went for a walk, got the kids ready for bed. Got kids to sleep yes I still rock my baby. Anyway had all the kids in bed and asleep good I'm going to get to sleep early. WRONG I was just drifting off and Sara woke up I was hoping she would go back to sleep, so I just waited well it didn't happen and so we got up and went to rock, then she threw-up on me had to change, get new pj's for her, oh oh oh the joys of motherhood. Finally got her back to sleep, tried to lay her down and she wouldn't have anything to do with it she wanted to be rocked. This is like 2:30am. Okay so I go back and rock some more hoping to somehow get some sleep yes I have slept many nights in the chair. Then Jared came out crying, oh joy, he has been waking up every night this week. To make this already long story short, got Sara in bed, settled Jared down and finally at 4:00am was able to go back to bed. The good thing is the kids slept until after 9:00am which was good cause I slept until then too, and Dennie gets Jonathan up and to school. Boy what a night. Still haven't decided if Jared has a cold or allergies I think he has a little of both, is that even possible? Hopefully our day goes smoothly. Have a good one

Tuesday

Its Tuesday and its WINDY and I mean WINDY not just the fly a kite windy but blow your head off wind. Oh well it could be a lot worse. I just love my kids, (no surprise I'm their mom right) but let me tell you they are just like every other kid they can drive you nuts by fighting and yelling etc., but when it comes right down to it, they really love each other. The other day it was a bad day they were going at it from the minute they woke up, I don't know why but they were (the three youngest) Jonathan was at school. Anyway I was at my wits end, we were late going to the bus so I had to take Jared to school, lots of trouble getting ready and to the van, they were still going at it. Got to school and I tell him "bye have a good day I love you", he turned and told each of his sisters (whom he had been fighting with all morning) "bye, I love you" and they in turn told him, I thought even though they fight and get mad at each other they still love each other no matter what. What a great example they are to me. The rest of the day went great, maybe I should have tried saying I love you to them a little earlier in the day could have made my morning go a bit smother. :) Have a good one

Happy Mothers Day

I know its a day late, but Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers out there. I have a hard time with mothers day, but that is another story. We had a fun day yesterday even if we didn't make it to church, we were not feeling well so we stayed home, don't know if Jared has allergies or just a good old cold. We did however go outside and play and took my Mothers Day pictures. I think they turned out pretty cute. We also took a little ride, the kids hate that but I told them it was my day so we went. We had a good weekend well I think everyone did, I sure did. It was fun scrap booking we all were able to get something done. Thanks Mom and Mandy for a fun couple of days, can't wait for the next one. Audrey and Linda get ready, we have something in the works so be prepared. Hopefully Sara will be all potty trained and it will be easier for Dennie to keep her, not that she wasn't OK, but it will just be easier if she isn't having accidents, and nobody is sick including me (its hard to scrap when your nose is running all the time.) It was good to go, I know I was missed, and they were glad to see me, makes me feel good to know that they do appreciate all that I do for them. I guess I need to go a little more often don't ya think HA HA. Its hard for me to go and leave them, I know their Dad is more than capable to keep them and all but still, I guess if I go once a month it wouldn't be hard right? We will see. Another busy week ahead, with T-Ball, Scouts, dance, work, etc. plus the end of school is getting near and so that means field trips and all the fun stuff that comes with it, can't wait for the summer. Have a good week! Melody

Wednesday

It's Wednesday once again the weeks just fly by. Not much going on just a lot of rain but at least its not snow for that I am thankful for, I can handle the rain. Jared went on a field trip yesterday, he had a blast. They went to the Airport and the Museum. He was super excited to tell me all about what he saw. I wish I could go and help more in his classroom and for field trips, its hard with two little helpers. Maybe next year I can help more. Sara is doing super great on potty training. No accidents yesterday and none yet today. Hopefully she'll be as easy as Rach was. She even woke-up the first night to tell us she had to go potty. That was a first, none of the other kids ever did that. She is such a sweet little girl, and growing up so fast. What a sweetheart, she is so funny to watch, she does what ever the other kids do but mostly Rachel. Jared has his first T-Ball game Friday he is super excited, I won't even be here for it, going on a scrapbook weekend. Looking forward to that, I haven't done any scrapbooking for a while, I am not keeping up with my goal very well but at least the thought is there, that has to count for something right? Have a good week.

Weekend Review

We had a very busy weekend. It started with a sleepover at our house. Jonathan had two friends over. It was fun but I had BOY overload. Between the Nerf gun "wars", Wii, DS, and gameboy playing, oh and don't forget the Nerf basketball game inside the house. UGH a little is okay but I had overload I even went to bed early with the girls and let Dennie stay up with the boys who knows when they went to bed! Dennie had to help move a family and then we went to the preparedness fair. It was a wealth of information, some of it we already knew but there was plenty of good information that we can put to good use. Came home did the normal "Saturday stuff" cleaning laundry etc. I then made 6 batches of bread sticks for our family dinner on Sunday. We celebrated 2 birthdays on Sunday, (our dads have the same birthdays) We went and surprised my Dad by all of us (brother & sisters, and their families) being at there house when they got home from church. Then we had a spaghetti dinner (hence the bread sticks) complete with cake and ice cream. The kids played outside and we visited, thankfully the weather was good, after we all left it rained and rained. We then went and had cake and ice cream with Dennies Dad. It was a busy but very fun day. We enjoyed spending the day with both of our Dads and are so thankful that they are both a good example to our kids. We love them very much.
