Spring time Really!

I do believe that it is FINALLY spring time up here! Now watch we will have a foot of snow in the morning! The kids and I had fun flying kites it was the perfect day for it! I was kept busy running between the girls and Jared, trying to take pictures, and keeping the kites out of the trees. But as you can see we had blue sky. The mountains how ever had cloud cover and you couldn't see the top so I know they were getting snow. Another busy week ahead I love it! Its so much better when we are busy keeps us all out of trouble.

Spring time. . . . .Maybe

Two of our kids have been sighed up for baseball and can not wait to get outside at start their "spring training" so at the first sign of grass in the backyard its constantly "Dad lets go out and play catch". Now it doesn't matter that the wind is blowing, that its COLD or even if its raining. There's grass out back so that means we can play catch. So Monday after dinner they ventured out back, with jackets and tennis shoes. By the time I got outside Rachel was headed back in for her winter coat, boots, and mittens. The boys, well they didn't care if it was freezing or not, and let me tell you it was FREEZING!! Tuesday morning we woke up to snow and you can't see the grass either.

Projects

We have been doing many different projects this month, trying to keep ourselves busy and not go crazy with cabin fever.

We had a primary activity day and I had to come up with a game, or story from the Old Testament so I chose David and Goliath. We made a Goliath to size (he was 9 feet 9 inches tall) then we made some slings (or I should say Dennie made them) and some beanbag rocks so the kids to sling rocks at him, after I told the story.

Jared wanted to make a rocket launcher so we found what he needed got the stuff together and Dennie helped him put it together, then I helped him with the rockets. This is quite the launcher. He has launched this in the house (thank goodness the rocket is paper) but it is much better outside, he can't wait until the snow is gone so he can use it outside more. He has launched it outside several times, but he has to wade through the snow to get his rocket and without boots and snow pants on you get wet and cold.

Sara wanted a ladybug skirt when she saw this fabric so this is what I came up with. It was a fun super easy skirt and its super cute on. The picture doesn't do it justice, its really cute. Can't wait to make some more.

If we can't have SPRING outside we are going to have it inside, the kids and I made these flowers out of coffee filters. Fun stuff, now to get projects ready for next week when its spring break. Any ideas?????
