Camping

This past weekend we loaded up the tent & sleeping bags, grabbed some food and headed off to Big Elk Campground.  It was a short but fun camping trip.  It was fun just being outdoors, sitting around camp enjoying family and Dennie and Dad do the cooking. Sorry no pictures of that dang it they cooked breakfast and dinner on Saturday night dutch oven roast and cheesy potatoes YUMMY!

I Love it when Rachel wants to take pictures, she takes some very interesting ones and has a different outlook on what to take pictures of  but that's the fun of it to see the world through her eyes.  These next pictures are some of the ones she took.   Love the hands in dirt it was a great past time for the girls.

Can  you believe it some of the leaves are already changing colors.

Back to School!

Back to school already?  It seems like summer just started.  The kids were up and ready EARLY way to early for me but I am so not a morning person.   They were oh so excited to have the first day of school pictures too.  NOT.  But they did it and with smiles this year too.
I wanted a picture by the "mascot" and was surprised that Jared not only said OK but put his arm around Rachel.  I hope he looks out for her its been hard for me sending her this year and I'm not sure why.  She just seems so little.  How in the world did I ever send the boys?  And how will I be able to send Sara next year?
I made these after school treats for the kids, fun for me and they liked the treats not sure about the rulers but it was fun.  Jonathan is super excited about school this year and likes his class schedule.  Jared liked math today cause they did a project and likes his teacher.  Rachel likes her teacher but it was a big long day for her, something to get used to going all day long.  All in all it was a great day for everyone at school. Sara was lonely and I wasn't sure what to do.  (Next year is going to be tough if I don't get it together) Looking forward to a great school year!

In the Woods

The other day we went to find more logs for the beds Dennie is making for us and we thought oh lets take the shotgun and the 22, the kids had a blast. It was fun expect for the fact that we only had 2 pop cans to shoot at and they were pretty much gone by the time we were done shooting at them.  Oh well it was fun and we got some good logs.  Hopefully we won't have to get anymore for beds, but who knows.  It has been such a fun project for Dennie he has Jonathan's bed almost done too. Then only 2 more to go.   He wants to make a table for me as well but that might have to wait until next year, depends on how soon we get snow.
Little Miss Sara learning how to shoot the 22  she wasn't scared at all and actually shot it a couple of times.
Getting instructions
 Jonathan shooting the shotgun.

 Jared shooting the 22

 Mr. Lowe

It was a fun day for all even if we had to haul logs.

Is it really that time of year Again?

Is it really that time of year? I swear we just got out of school and its time to go back where oh where has the summer gone?! On the bright side I LOVE school supplies always have. However with three kids in school they get more expensive every year and the list get longer and longer here is what we got yesterday and its just for Jared and Rachel and that's not everything no paper, no paints (Rachel needs 2) and some little odds and ends to get. The bummer of the whole thing is they all just get put into a big bin for everyone to use. UGH! Jonathan doesn't get his list until the first day of school, and its usually paper and pencils, but we shall see. To top it off they all want to take cold lunch to school this year, which is okay its just I have to be more prepared in the morning and you all know I am NOT a morning person so I guess that is going to change too.

Dennie has been working on Jared's bed the past couple of weeks, this bed has been more of a challenge but YEAH! Its done and ready to be varnished. Next up Jonathan's. Can't wait to see what logs he wants for his bed.

Dennie and Jared with the foot board of his bed, that wasn't too bad it was the headboard that was tricky.
